Did you know that March is officially recognised as being the month to enjoy noodles?
There are so many different types of noodles available, but no noodles are more quintessentially Japanese than the humble soba noodle. Made from buckwheat, soba noodles have a great taste, are much more healthy than normal wheat noodles and are perfect for a variety of different Japanese dishes.
There are also a variety of different types of soba noodles and we have two available at Japan Centre which are definitely a step up from the rest and ideal to make noodle month more interesting!
MATCHA GREEN TEA LATTE (HOT OR ICED)
Matcha powder is the one of the most healthy green teas out there because you drink a powdered form of the actual tea leaf, unlike regular green tea which is simply an infusion of the leaves. Matcha goes perfectly with milk thanks to its smooth taste and is delicious hot or cold. It also contains some caffeine, so it will give you an instant pick me up at any time of day.
The same way that British people enjoy different varieties of tea, such as Earl Grey or Darjeeling, Japanese tea also has a huge range of different types, all with subtle differences in taste and aroma.
Although all these different varieties give us a great opportunity to sample all the exotic flavours, it can also make it difficult to choose which type of tea is the best choice for you.
