Half Japanese eh? Well, there’s a lot of us around. Japancentre.com houses 2 resident halfies, and we’ve had quite a few who pass through our doors as packaging staff over the years. A nice subtle blend or culture clash!
The Hafujapanese.org project, which centres on the social identity of half Japanese people, is putting on a series of half Japanese themed events over the weekend of 25th-26th October in East London at the Bodhi Gallery, 214 Brick Lane. Saturday is Adults day, with seminars, lectures and photo exhibit, followed in the evening by a poorly disguised excuse for a booze up. Sunday is family focused, with Kamibashi making and Origami art workshops lead by artist Kaho Kojima.
All events are free, so if you’re interested in attending, you can sign up online.
